Meet Jen
Jen is a New Jersey Native and World Traveler with a lifelong passion for helping others. Fortunate to know from a young age that she wanted to be a therapist, she started by obtaining her undergraduate degree at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA and majored in Psychology with a minor in Women’s Studies in 2004.
She then returned to NJ to obtain her Masters Degree in Social Work from Monmouth University and graduated in 2006. Jen began her career working with children providing individual and group therapy and assisted in launching a children’s IOP before becoming a certified school social worker.
After obtaining the highest level of social work licensure in 2009, Jen expanded her work to include adults by working in the crisis unit at local emergency rooms and then an adult inpatient psychiatric unit. She was then asked to join a local outpatient treatment program for teens where she quickly became a Clinical Coordinator for an Adolescent Program.
In 2012 Jen moved to Hawaii and became a Clinical Director for a large non-profit agency servicing homeless veterans, and later moved to Germany in 2014 where she became a first time and full time mom and volunteered her services with the Army’s Family Advocacy Program in her spare time.
2017 brought Jen back to her roots in NJ where she spent two years working in private practices in Red Bank and Manasquan, as well as working with elderly clients in a local Assisted Living and PACE Program, before opening Coastal Counseling & Healing Center in July 2019.

Meet Shain
Shain Falk is a Mental Health Counseling intern who brings a grounded, empathic, and deeply human approach to therapy. With training in Psychodrama, Psychodramatic Bodywork, and Person-Centered Therapy, Shain helps clients reconnect with their inner truth, access embodied wisdom, and create meaningful change from the inside out.
Her work is especially informed by her own lived experience transitioning out of a strict religious environment, raising three children as a single parent, and rebuilding life with authenticity and self-compassion. She works comfortably with trauma, identity exploration, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, and the mind–body connection.
Shain believes healing happens when clients feel truly seen, supported, and understood. Her style is gentle, collaborative, and attuned — blending creativity, somatic awareness, and evidence-based practices to help clients move toward emotional clarity and empowered living.
The CC&HC Story
With 20 years of clinical therapy and counseling experience under her belt, Jen felt confident in private practice but was searching for a way to provide more help and healing to others. Following the passing of 3 close family members to cancer within 4 years, she felt a strong calling to begin assisting others in healing not just the mind, but the body as well. It was at this time that Jen began pursuing certification in Reiki energy healing. Presently a certified Reiki III Practitioner, Jen seeks to help others be more aligned to the mind/body connection and is pursuing her passion as a Holistic Healer.

At Coastal Counseling & Healing Center, our mission is to guide individuals through purposeful healing that reconnects the mind, body, and spirit. We blend evidence-based therapy with somatic and energetic practices to support real, lasting transformation.
We welcome and honor every identity, background, and story. Our space is built on emotional safety, radical honesty, and the belief that every person is capable of healing, growth, repair, and becoming our most authentic selves.
Like the lotus that rises from the depths of darkness and blooms in full light, we help clients transform pain into strength, reclaim their power, and step forward with clarity, awareness, integrity, and peace.
